Wide Open Road Brunswick
Wide Open Road – Brunswick
Wide Open Road Brunswick was crowned “best new cafe 2011” by the Age Good Food Guide and rightly so.
With Extensions finished in April the the wide open spaces of the cafe give it a relaxed retro feel. Perfect for weekend breaky and coffee.
With shared tables, old school booth seats and the winter sun streaming through the windows, there is a buzz of chatter and a good feeling in Wide Open Road.
The menu caters for all tastes with blueberry bagels, muesli, eggs and their Truck Stop breakfast which contains a great cabbage and potato cake as well as some superb smokey beans. The Truck stop also comes in Vegetarian version as well so no one misses out.
Wide Open Road roast their own coffe on site and it is worth it. The “Bathysphere” blend is made from a mix of Kenyan, Brazillian, Costa Rican and Eithiopian beans.
If your not looking for breakfast they have some classic sandwiches on offer which will not disappoint. We sampled the Roast Pork and coleslaw, which was a tasty little treat.
Our only regret was not trying the Smashed Peas which looked great, oh well it gives us a reason to head back very soon.
